Possibly the most noteworthy development in social media over recent years has been the meteoric rise of the selfie.

Mid-project I believe that the penny finally dropped, I understood the reasoning behind this playful heterogeneous approach.

In 2013 the Oxford Dictionaries declared the Selfie word of the year, relating their decision to an apparent 17,000%  increase in usage.
